June 2008 Antelope Island
Great Salt Lake
While heading south from the Golden Spike National Historic Site on our way to Mohab UT, we wanted to stop and see the Great Salt Lake. Having seen it many time (from the air), I alway wanted to stand in it. We took a side trip for an hour to Antelope Island to see the lake. Five hours later, we were on our way again. This was an unexpected treat. Lots of wildlife to see and yes, I did get to stand in the lake. Well worth the time. They do have some primative campsites available. View Park
May 2009 Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania - Strasburg PA Trains, Trains, Trains
Whether you are a railroad buff, historian, or just like museums, this is a great place to spend several hours. Located in the hart of Amish county (Lancaster County PA), this museum provides a look into the past and present railroads and how they made American great. One of the best collections of railroad rolling stock you will find.

May 2009 The National Watch and Clock Museum - Columbia PA Fascinated with the art and science of time? This is the place for you. Part of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC). As you wonder through this museum, you will pass through time. You will experience time keeping from ancients to modern time. Note: it gets a little noisy at noon. View Park
May 2009 Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum located in Charleston Harbor SC. The center piece of this museum is the USS Yorktown (CV-10) - an aircraft carrier also know as "The Fighting Lady". She was named for the Yorktown (CV-5) which was lost repelling the Japanese Fleet at the Battle of Midway. On her decks are vintage aircraft and the Congressional Medal of Honor Museum. Along with the Yorktown are a submarine (USS Clamagore) a Destroyer (USS Laffey) and a Coast Guard cutter (USS Ingham). Patriots Point is also one of only two locations where you can embark on a boat tour to Ft. Sumter. View Park
May 2010 Oscar Sherer State Park One of the many Florida State Parks. This remote park is located in Osprey, Florida just south of Sarasota. Here you will find 15 miles of hiking trails as well as fishing, canoeing, and swimming. A great place to relax and enjoy the Florida sunshine. View Park
March 2011 Lion Country Safari Lion Country Safari and Safari World Amusement Park are located in Loxahatchee Florida (just west of West Palm Beach). Florida's only drive-through safari with over 900 animals and walk-through amusement park. It is the nations first cageless zoo. As you drive through the park, you are up close to the animals with a clear view. When finished with the drive, you can spend some time in the amusement park. A great place for kids and adults. Prices are reasonable. You can get special discounts if you stay at the adjacent KOA camp grounds. View Park
